A rollercoaster ride would be a word to best describe my first day. It had its ups and its downs; nevertheless, overall the “ride” was a profound experience. The first time I entered Victoria Park, the only thing in my head was, how I’m going to get myself from place to place in this monstrous school. I thought I was going to have a rough first year; nonetheless, it wasn’t as bad as I had assumed. Sure, I got lost a few hundred times however, in the process I met new friends and people of all types of races and personalities. I also got to meet different teacher with different personalities in just one day’s time. It was unbelievable what happened my first week of school.
On the other hand, there were some negatives about my first week. Firstly, I kept getting lost and couldn’t find my way. Secondly, there was some much information to absorb in one weeks time. From, rules to how to enter a class room and even trying to remember everything that was forgotten over the summer. Lastly, the factor that I hated the most was the hustle that I had to put into to find my locker! It was like trying to fight a herd of buffalo to get to the other end of the hallway, it was a clustered, compact mess. There were people pushing a shoving to get by and that caused a lot of turmoil between students. Worst of all there were so many lockers and just finding my locker was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
I was amazed by the end of this week when I could finally figure out where a few of my class rooms were. However, there is still a lot I need to learn, on the schools geography, let alone my subjects. There is no limit to one person can do, that is what I learned through my first week of school as a freshman in Victoria Park.
